![]() ![]() The Keys had a lot of wrecks though, according to many diving websites I visited, so I went there and it was 76 km away.Ī lot of fun, even if very hard. For the life of me couldn't figure out what this structure was. R5, 4602 From some hot Googling I was able to figure out it was yellowtail snappers and atlantic spadefish that I was seeing. I found photos of red brain coral at Philippines, so went there. Lives in the Indo-Pacific, from Japan to Indonesia. Upon further analysis with my eyeballs I noticed the fish in question also had a black line going through its eye. But Wikipedia said it lives in depths of 100 meters, and this wasn't that deep. There were yellow fish with one black dot on them, which after some Googling I thought to be a narcosis angelfish. R4, 511 This is the round I realised I could move. ![]() R3, 0 points Googling "coral that looks vaguely like chanterelle" didn't take me anywhere. I remember there being a big thing about it in the Museum, because they once accidentally spilled some nasty seaweed to the Mediterranean there. When I clicked guess and saw it was at the Musée océnagraphique in Monaco I got a bit mad though, since I remember seeing photos under the water there and just didn't remember it looked exactly like that. Ended up just guessing at Peloponnesos, since it felt like it was in the Mediterranean from what I've seen snorkeling there. R2, 1046 There wasn't a lot to go off of. Pretty far from Taiwan, but I can't be mad since I can't even be sure if it was a zebrafish or not. Wikipedia claimed it was "endemic to South-Australian waters", so I went with that. So I put all of that into google and found out it was a Zebrafish, "girella zebra", and that it lives in the Indo-Pacific in coastal waters. I saw one fish, it was white, had thick black stripes and yellow fins. If this is successful enough I might do a repeat! :) Take care in lockdown & stay safe all Have a go, all you need to do is get the right ocean to beat me honestly. Having actually gone through manually to find these photospheres and enter them into the software, I still only managed to score 9880 myself, completely flunking two rounds and only getting 13 points on a third (but getting >4800 on the other two rounds because I sort of remembered where the more distinctive ones were). Anything else - looking up types of coral, for example, is fair game. However I'd ask that you not go to the image copyright holder's website (until you're done with the challenge, at least). The challenge difficulty level is set at, which means you're allowed to turn to external assistance. It also turns out it makes for a very hard challenge! Here you go: It turns out there are hundreds of these, and they're all quite high quality and beautiful. OK so I made a shitpost earlier about accidentally finding an underwater photosphere while using the mapmaker feature of Geoguessr.
